スロットルレバーで、任意の回転数にセットします。
自動車のエンジン回転数は通常1,000rpmのように表記し、
これは1分間に1,000回まわるということです。
単位のrpmは、revolution per minuteの頭文字です。
rpmの代わりにrev./minと書く人もいます。
min-1という表記方法もあります。
この-1はminute分の１という意味です。
エンジン回転数に対応する英語には
revolution per minute、engine speed、engine revolutionなどがあります。
一概にどれが正しいとはいえません。
ある辞書ではrevolution countまたはrev countとなっています。
Countというは1、2、3、4と数を数え上げる場合に使います。
カウンタがついている場合はcountですが、

しかし、エンジン回転数となっている場合でも、
エンジンを回し始めて5分後に停止させ、何回まわったか？という時にはcountを使います。
タイトルは一瞬見るだけで理解させたいため、短文ほど良いです。
そのためにできるだけ冠詞を省きます。

この場合、冠詞を省くと意味が変わってくる恐れがあるため気をつけましょう。

技術用語では名詞を並べる表現方法がよく取られますが、多くて4個までにしましょう。
これ以上長くなると関係が分からなくなります。
「セットする」の英訳ですが、
setの場合その後にtoを持ってくるか、atにするか迷うことがあります。
set～toとset～atでは意味が変わってきますので注意が必要です。
マニュアルではset～toを多く使います。
Set the rpm to 100. 今は100ではないが、100まで変化させる。
Set the rpm at 100. 50、10、200、0、70、100、と数字が変化する中で100が出たらセットする。
Set the rpm for 100. 100に向かっていけば100に達してなくてもよい。
